The BACGene Mplex STEC SEROtype kits are multiplex real-time PCR assays, which have been developed for a fast and reliable detection of three of the Top7 non-O157 STEC serogroups each. In combination with the BACGene E. coli O157:H7 assays these kits enable the detection and identification of all of the Top7 STEC serotypes.

Among STEC, E. coli O157:H7 is the most prominent serotype, however other serotypes are also potentially threatening to human health by expressing stx1 and stx2 (the Top6: O145, O121, O111,O103, O45 and O26).
