Modified Cry3A ELISA kit

mCry3A ELISA test kit is intended to be used for the qualitative detection of modified Cry3A protein present in transgenic Maize plant carrying Syngenta corn rootworm event MIR 604. This event is present in Syngenta Agrisure RW. The test is used to detect the mCry3A protein in individual Maize seed or leaf. It can also be used to detect the Syngenta event MIR 604 in bulk grain at 1 % (1 positive seed in 100 negative seeds).

Details
An antibody specific to the mCry3A protein molecule is immobilized on the microwell plates and the second antibody specific for mCry3A protein is conjugated with horse radish peroxidase (HRP). When the sample extracts are added to the microtiter wells, the mCry3A from the sample binds to the antibody immobilized in the well. This binding is subsequently detected by addition of enzyme-labeled antibody. After a washing step, the substrate is added. The enzymatic reaction and development of color are proportional to the amount of mCry3A present in the sample. The reaction is terminated by addition of stop solution. Absorbance is then measured on a plate reader.
