INgezim Brucella Bovina Milk is an immunoenzymatic assay for the detection of antibodies specific of Brucella in milk or whey samples (individual or pools) of cattle.

Brucella species have two main antigenic components. One of those is a protein-polysaccharide complex LPSS with endotoxic activity, responsible of the specificity of agglutination and is the major antigenic component. The second one is a polysaccharide (poli-B) with no endotoxic activity and with no relevance role in the agglutination test. The INGEZIM BRUCELA kit is based on the indirect immunoenzymatic assay described bellow: The antigen is fixed in a solid support (polystyrene plate). The antigen used is a purified extract of the LPS of Brucella. The serum sample is added to each well. After incubation and washing we add a labelled monoclonal antibody (peroxidase conjugated) specific to bovine immunoglobulins. If the serum sample contains antibodies against the Brucella, the conjugate will bind to the plate, whereas if it does not contain specific antibodies no binding of the conjugate will be appreciated. After washing the plate to eliminate all non-fixed material, we can detect the presence or absence of labelled conjugate by adding the substrate that in presence of the peroxidase will develop a colorimetric reaction
